In skateboarding, the deck is the wooden board that forms the top of your skateboard, the part you actually stand and push on. Everything else, like trucks and wheels, bolts onto the underside of it. Since the deck controls how your board flicks, lands and feels underfoot, most skaters treat choosing a deck as the most personal part of their setup. Popular decks and prices in India vary mainly by brand. At Skate Supply India, a blank deck costs around ₹2,779, homegrown Hearty decks sit between ₹3,179 and ₹3,509, and World Industries decks are around ₹3,379. Imported pro decks cost more, with Real at about ₹4,719, Krooked at about ₹5,119 and Anti Hero at about ₹5,419.

Buy a deck on its own if you already own trucks and wheels, want to replace a worn-out board, or like choosing each part yourself. Go for a complete skateboard if this is your first board and you want to start skating straight away. A deck by itself does not include trucks, wheels or bearings.

The first number is the width of the deck and the second is its length, both in inches. So an 8.06" × 32" deck, like many of our Real decks, is 8.06 inches wide and 32 inches long. Width matters far more than length when picking a deck, and our size guide shows which width suits your shoe size.

A pro deck carries a brand’s artwork and is often a signature model linked to a professional skater, while a blank deck has no graphic at all. Blank decks cost less, which makes them popular as practice boards that you skate hard and replace often. Pro decks let you support a brand or rider and show off your style. Signature decks are designed with and named after a specific skater, usually featuring artwork they helped create. A popsicle deck has a rounded nose and tail that both curve upward, giving it a symmetrical shape like an ice lolly stick. It is the industry standard for street and park skating because you can ride and pop tricks from either end. All our Hearty decks use the popsicle shape. Pop is how quickly and sharply the deck springs up when you snap the tail down, which is what lifts the board for ollies and flip tricks. Good pop comes from well-pressed maple layers and quality glue. Over time and heavy use, a deck slowly loses pop and starts to feel soft or dead, which is usually the sign that it is time for a new skateboard deck.

A well-made maple deck is very strong and easily handles the weight of an adult rider. Our Hearty decks are tested for loads of 150 to 400 kg, so they hold up to everyday skating as well as landings from tricks. Like any deck, they can still crack from a hard landing on the edge or from being left in water.

A blind deck is a deck where you do not choose the graphic, and the design is a surprise when it arrives. It is a fun way to get a new deck and often feels like opening a mystery box. Water is the biggest enemy of a wooden deck, since it soaks into the maple and makes the board heavy, soft and likely to warp. Avoid skating through puddles, wipe your deck dry after any wet ride, and store it indoors away from damp walls. Grip tape inclusion depends on the deck, so check the product page before ordering. If your deck arrives without it, pick up a sheet from our griptape collection and apply it before mounting your trucks. A skateboard tool helps you trim the edges and punch the bolt holes neatly.

Pick your skateboard deck width based on your shoe size. As a guide, UK 6 to 8 suits an 8.0" deck, UK 8 to 10 suits an 8.25" deck, and UK 10 and above suits an 8.5" deck, while smaller riders and kids can start on 7.25" to 7.75".
