Beginners usually feel most comfortable on 8.0" - 8.25" decks. Smaller riders can start with 7.25" - 7.75", while wider decks (8.25"+) offer more stability for park and ramp skating.

Deck size depends more on your shoe size and riding style than height. If you're unsure, 8.0" or 8.25" is a safe all-round choice.
